There is always something to get involved with at La Fontana Care Home, and residents have enjoyed a lovely mix of activities recently. From playful games to creative projects and quiet moments of relaxation, life at the home has been full of variety.
Hungry Hippos and Playful Fun
Hungry Hippos brought out everyone's playful side. There was plenty of laughter, friendly competition and cheering as the marbles flew around the board. It is a simple game, but it proved a real favourite, and it was wonderful to see residents so enthusiastic and fully involved.
Games like this encourage residents to join in together, and they often spark the sort of banter that makes an afternoon memorable.
Colouring Jungle Scenes
For something a little more creative, residents turned their attention to colouring jungle scenes. With a wide choice of colours to hand, everyone took their time choosing shades for leaves, animals and skies. Some preferred a bold, bright approach, while others opted for softer tones.
Creative activities like colouring offer a relaxed way to spend time together. Residents can chat as they work, share ideas, and take pride in the finished pictures.

Exercising Our Minds with Proverbs
We have also been exercising our minds by matching sentences to complete well-known proverbs. This activity prompted plenty of discussion, with residents often finishing a saying before the question was even read out. Many proverbs were familiar from years gone by, and some led to stories about where residents first heard them.
It is a good example of how a simple activity can encourage conversation and shared memories while keeping everyone mentally engaged.
